Job summary

Close Companions, located at Williamsburg Retirement Community, is seeking compassionate, energetic individuals to join our caregiving team as an overnight caregiver. The shift runs from 11 P.M.

to 7 A.M., with opportunities for advancement and a supportive team environment. Responsibilities include providing night-time care, assisting with personal care and mobility, ensuring comfort, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Self-starter who can work independently.
• CNA certification preferred but not required.
• Team player with patience and empathy.
• Good communication with residents, staff and families.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Experience as CNA/Med Tech.
• Calm, cool head under pressure.
• Background check, TB test and food handlers permit may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care and support to residents throughout the night.
• Assist with personal care, mobility, and safety monitoring.
• Ensure residents are comfortable and cared for, reporting concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills
• Self-starter and able to work independently
• CNA Certification preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively
• High tolerance for working under pressure and handling critical situations with a cool head
• Experience as CNA /Med Tech.
• Good communication skills, such as being able to communicate effectively with residents, staff, family members, and professionals. Including the ability to communicate sensitive information with empathy ("bedside manner")
• Have a positive and compassionate attitude
• Must be 18 or older

A background check is required for this position upon hire, as well as a food handlers permit, CPR/First Aid certification, and a TB test.
