Job summary

Village of Southampton, part of The Aspenwood Company, seeks compassionate Resident Assistants to support seniors in a caring, homelike environment. You will assist with daily activities, dining, and social programs, while documenting observations and maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Shifts include evenings and PRN, with weekend/holiday availability. Competitive hourly pay range and generous benefits apply; involvement in emergency response and routine training is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, dining) encouraging independence.
• Serve meals and assist in meal preparation to ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities to promote socialization and friendships.
• Maintain accurate records of leisure activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly living environment; perform housekeeping duties as needed.
• Follow procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests via call pendants and phones.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, report if not located.
• Collaborate with teammates and attend required in-service trainings.

Location: Village of Southampton, an Independent and Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community

Pay Rate: $15.50/hr. - $17.50/hr.

Shifts Available

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
