Job summary

Monarch Place in Vestavia Hills, AL is hiring a caring Caregiver to support residents with daily activities, mobility, and recovery. You will work under supervision to ensure safety, comfort, and dignity for seniors in a warm setting.

We welcome experienced caregivers or those seeking growth in senior living. The role emphasizes compassion, teamwork, and dependable, patient-centered care throughout each shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a State-approved Nursing Assistant Training Program if required by state regulations.
• CNA certification preferred but not required.
• CPR and First Aid certification if required.

Responsibilities

• Follow residents' ISP and provide personalized care.
• Assist with ADLs: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility.
• Observe changes and report to nursing supervisor.
• Document daily care and resident status.
• Record vitals, weights per state regulations.
• Assist with restorative care techniques and transfers.
• Provide emotional support and encourage participation in activities.
• Escort residents to appointments and community events.
• Respond to call systems and emergencies.

What You'll Do

As a Caregiver, you'll provide hands-on support that helps our residents live safely, comfortably, and with dignity every day.

Responsibilities include:

• Follow each resident's Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and provide personalized care.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and mobility.
• Observe residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the nursing supervisor.
• Document daily care, observations, and resident status throughout each shift.
• Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and other information as assigned and permitted by state regulations.
• Assist with restorative care techniques, including proper positioning, ADL support, and passive range of motion exercises.
• Provide encouragement, redirection, cues, and emotional support to residents as needed.
• Encourage and assist residents in participating in activities and community events.
• Safely assist with transfers and ambulation using proper body mechanics and equipment.
• Escort residents throughout the community and accompany them to appointments when needed.
• Respond promptly to resident call systems and emergency requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support resident care and the community.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
