Job summary

Mentor Community Services, part of the Sevita family, is hiring a Direct Support Professional (Mobile) in California. The role involves supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings and collaborating with clinical staff to implement therapeutic and behavioral plans.

You will drive to assignments with a valid license, assist with daily living activities (meals, medication), and help clients reach goals in areas like budgeting, nutrition, and social

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must be minimum 18 years of age.
• Six months of experience in human services preferred.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing; access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
• Successful clearance of background checks.

Responsibilities

• Transport and support in the community: outings, medical appointments, shopping.
• Assist with daily living skills including meal preparation and medication administration.
• Provide guidance on developmental goals such as community participation, budgeting, exercise, nutrition, and vocational tasks.
• Support individuals with living skills like grooming, hygiene, and toileting; help redirect agitation or aggression.

Direct Support Professional Mobile

Wage $19.60/hr

• Valid driver’s license in good standing REQUIRED
• Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance REQUIRED

Based in community settings, within a program, and working closely with our clinical staff to support therapeutic and behavioral plans, DSPs provide assistance and strategies to the individuals we serve to live as independently as possible.

• Transportation and support out in the community: outings/field trips, medical appointments, and shopping
• Assist with daily living skills including meal preparation and assist with medication administration
• Provide guidance on a range of developmental goals from community participation, household budgeting, exercise, nutrition, and supporting vocational responsibilities
• Support persons served with living skills such as personal hygiene, grooming, and/or bathing and toileting
• Assist individuals we serve to redirect agitated or aggressive behaviors

Qualifications
