Job summary

Sevita's NeuroRestorative division in New Jersey is hiring caring caregivers to support clients with brain and spinal cord injuries in home and community settings. Full-time and part-time roles include weekend shifts and evening or overnight schedules.

You will assist with daily activities, transport clients, prepare meals, provide companionship, and help maintain safety. Training provided; benefits available for 32+ hours/week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (physical proof is required).
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in human services or caregiving preferred, but not mandatory.
• Valid (for at least 1 year), non-probationary driver's license with no restrictions.
• Minimum age: 18 years.
• Successful background check clearance.
• Caring attitude and dedication to supporting others.
• Ability and willingness to safely bend and lift to assist clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Transport clients to appointments utilizing company vehicles.
• Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping.
• Support wheelchair assistance and safe transportation.
• Provide companionship and meaningful conversation.
• Ensure overall safety and well-being of clients.
• Use proper lifting and bending techniques to physically support clients.

Job description

NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.

Starting Pay: $16.25/hour

• Additional $0.50/hour for 1–4 years of experience
• Additional $1.00/hour for 5+ years of experience
• Continued Education in a Related Field

Positions: all residential schedules include working at least one day of the weekend

• Evenings (3p-11p)
• Overnights (11p-7a or 11p-9a)

Preliminary Requirements

• Proof of non-probationary driver’s license held for at least one year
• Ability to attend orientation (Tuesday–Friday, Daytime)
