Job summary

HomeWell Care Services – Everett, WA is seeking a compassionate Caregiver to join our local home care team. Under supervision of a Care Manager, you will provide personal care and supportive services that respect each client’s needs and preferences, while maintaining safety and dignity in every interaction.

Requirements include a Washington HCA certification (or in training), CPR, a valid driver’s license, and at least one year of caregiving experience.

  • Washington State Home Care Aide (HCA) certification or in training toward
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Minimum of one year caregiving experience
  • Able to read, write and communicate effectively with clients, families and staff
  • Self-directed with minimal supervision
  • Empathy and respect for clients, families and coworkers
  • Willing to travel locally/regionally to client homes

Responsibilities

  • Provide Daily Living (ADL) and IADL assistance
  • Follow infection control precautions and use equipment safely
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies

Job description

Caregiver Summary:

The Caregiver is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a Care Manager to provide personal care and support services that meet each client’s individual needs. The Caregiver is assigned to clients in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of care, and delivers services in alignment with HomeWell’s mission and standards of care. The Caregiver does not perform tasks that constitute the practice of nursing, including administering medications or physician-ordered procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalency.
  • Current Washington State Home Care Aid (HCA) certification or actively in training towards
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current physical and/or negative TB test, if applicable
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and current auto insurance
  • Minimum of one year of documented caregiving experience
  • Able to read, write and communicate effectively with clients, families and staff
  • Self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal direct supervision
  • Genuine empathy for clients; treats clients, families and coworkers with courtesy and respect
  • Works well as a member of a care team and maintains confidentiality of client medical information
  • Willing to travel locally/regionally to client homes
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Proficient in knowledge in Daily Living ADL and IADL
  • Follow infection control precautions and use equipment properly and safely
  • Respond rapidly and appropriately to emergency situations
  • Promote a safe environment and quality care by following agency policies and procedures
  • Uphold client rights, including privacy, dignity, consent, and confidentiality of information.
Compensation:

Total compensation includes wages, benefits plus performance bonuses

  • Wages –$22 - $27 per hour, depending on experience and credentials
  • Benefits
  • 401k match – 5%; fully vests after 1-year with agency
  • PTO - 2 weeks for 1st year; PTO accrues with each hour worked; PTO accruals increases with additional years of service with the agency
  • Mileage reimbursement where applicable
  • Health Insurance; after minimum service commitment
