Job summary

Comfort Keepers in MidCoast Maine is seeking caring individuals to join our team as Caregivers. You will provide one-on-one non-medical care in seniors’ homes, building meaningful relationships and supporting daily living activities.

Qualifications

• One year of caregiving experience preferred but not required.
• Must have a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Open availability strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical care to seniors in their own homes.
• Establish open communication and develop friendly relationships with seniors and their families.
• Help seniors with daily tasks such as light housekeeping and organization.
• Accompany seniors to the grocery store, doctor appointments and pharmacy visits.
• Organize transportation, ambulation and transfers.
• Encourage activity and movement.
• Inspire a positive, can-do attitude when it comes to daily tasks, appointments and hobbies.
• Maintain a trusting and comforting environment in the home.

Desired Caregiver Applicants Will Meet The Following Requirements

• As a Caregiver with Comfort Keepers, the leading provider of quality in‑home care for seniors, you will transform day‑to‑day caregiving into opportunities for meaningful relationships and memories. Comfort Keepers is strongly considering candidates with experience as a Home Care Aide, Personal Care Aide/Assistant, Personal Support Specialist, CNA, or similar positions.
• Position Physical Demands: The work requires moderate to physical exertion on a regular and recurring basis, such as driving, assisting clients in transfer activities and ambulation, and light housekeeping. Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, talk, and hear, reach, kneel, crouch. Lifting only up to 25 pounds is permitted and may be required.
