Role: Caregiver

The Caregiver is responsible for providing caring and personal assistance to clients. This position reports to the Home Care Director.

Required Experience for Caregiver:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in Healthcare, Geriatrics, or working with the elderly preferred.
• Nurse Aide or In-Home Aide certification preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow written instructions from leadership.

Accountability for Caregiver:

• Maintain timely and accountable attendance, adhering to work schedules and remaining on duty for the entire shift.
• Ensure care standards are met for each client.
• Report any client changes immediately to the Home Care Director.
• Communicate with clients tactfully and ensure messages are received and understood.

Responsibilities for Caregiver:

• Support our culture, pillars, and care standards.
• Complete daily/weekly tasks assigned by the Director and assist colleagues as needed.
• Provide compassionate care, including:
• Bathing, grooming, and showering assistance
• Assistance with dining
• Wheelchair and walking escorts
• Toileting and light incontinence care
• Morning and bedtime routines
• Medication reminders
• Companion sitting, if applicable
• Document and complete appropriate records.
• Work scheduled shifts with flexibility to assist other shifts as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Report concerns regarding client care or behavior changes.
• Attend staff meetings, training, and safety courses.
• Stay informed of departmental communications.

Working Conditions:

This role involves physical demands such as standing for long periods, effective communication, lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional travel. The environment is moderate noise, with OSHA hazards present.
