Job summary

Burdick Job Corps Center Fargo, ND is seeking a Career Transition Specialist to support graduates and former enrollees with verified placements and transition services. You will coordinate with employers, career development staff, and state agencies to promote job placements and ensure program compliance.

You will conduct six- and twelve-month surveys, maintain placement records, and help graduates with resumes and interview skills to improve placement outcomes and long-term success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years experience working with youth.
• Experience working with youth and placement/transition services is preferred.
• Ability to coordinate with employers and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely placement and retention of graduates and former enrollees in quality placement activities.
• Place graduates within the placement service period and strive to place 40% within 30 days of leaving.
• Conduct six- and twelve-month surveys and provide access to transitional services.
• Collaborate with Center’s CMTs and promote job development with employers and employment agencies.
• Develop new company linkages monthly to hire graduates before separation.
• Provide referrals to one-stops, JTPA, and state employment agencies and assist with resume preparation.
• Coach graduates on interviewing skills and placement search strategies.
• Maintain placement plans and ensure compliance with DOL, Corporate and Center policies.
