Job summary

Richland Library is seeking a Full-Time Business and Careers Professional at our Main location in Columbia, SC. The role focuses on helping patrons with career and small business needs, supporting COHS, and providing reference and technology assistance.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; MLIS preferred, plus related certifications. The position offers 37.5 hours weekly with a salary of $41,925 and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline; or equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
• MLIS preferred for professional library work.
• Career Development Facilitator Certification (CDF) or related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Helping customers with career/workforce and small business needs using library resources.
• Providing support services for the Career Online High School (COHS) program.
• Answering reference and technology questions and interpreting library policies.
• Assisting with training of professional and non-professional library staff.
• Developing programming materials and facilitating programs for computer skills, research, careers and small business.
• Providing readers’ advisory services and bibliographic instruction.
• Serving on departmental and library-wide committees.
