Job summary

The State of Oklahoma is seeking a Career Coordinator for the OKC Center - OESC to administer employment services, perform vocational assessments, and coordinate job placements for a diverse client base. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a focus on priority services and veterans programs, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

Eligible applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and the agency does not sponsor visas.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in employment services, career or vocational guidance and counseling, personnel, recruitment, training, customer services or social services related work; or equivalent education/experience with college hours substituted.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Ability to work independently, build relationships, and exercise good judgment in evaluating eligibility and program rules.
• Familiarity with state and federal employment services, unemployment insurance and workforce programs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage career assessment and vocational counseling through applicant interviews and qualification evaluation.
• Register customers for employment and unemployment services using EmployOklahoma.
• Establish unemployment insurance claims and interpret eligibility under state/federal laws.
• Prepare clear reports and communicate with management, employers, applicants, claimants and coworkers.
• Provide customer-service focused support in a responsive, professional environment.
