Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Staten Island (JCCSI) seeks a Career Services Case Manager (CRED) to provide case management, encourage participant engagement, and help individuals navigate social and legal systems to access resources for long-term stability.

Based in Staten Island, the role focuses on Community Workforce programs, Career Readiness, Employment, and Development, offering pathways, training, job placement, and economic mobility for residents.

Qualifications

  • Successful experience supporting and demonstrated understanding of social service needs of the CRED target population: under/unemployed adults 18-40, involved in the criminal justice system or impacted by community violence
  • Demonstrated experience supporting case loads
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social services/benefits and entitlements
  • Case management experience
  • Demonstrated cultural competence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field and experience working with City systems such as public assistance, child welfare, education, and housing; or
  • Associate's degree and experience working with City systems such as public assistance, child welfare, education, and housing; or
  • At least three (3) years successful experience in providing case management/counseling and working with City systems such as public assistance, child welfare, education, and housing.

Responsibilities

  • Devise and administer service needs assessment, identifying supportive services or other needs a participant needs to be successful in the program, for each participant.
  • Work with Mental Health Professional and referral agencies as needed.
  • Provide case management and encourage participant engagement and retention.
  • Leverage knowledge of benefits and entitlements and ability to navigate complex systems and agencies to assist participants in obtaining resources to successfully complete training.
  • Connect participants to JCC departments and external agencies that may provide tools and resources to assist participants to successfully complete training.
  • Work with participants to identify and work through barriers to program completion.
  • Work with participants to track progress made towards goals.
  • Escalate cases as appropriate to program mental health professional.
  • Work seamlessly with broader CRED team to provide holistic support to all participants.
  • All other tasks as administered by supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY

The Career Services Case Manager (CRED) is responsible for working to provide case management and encourage participant engagement and retention. The dedicated and resilient Case Manager will support individuals involved in the justice system and those residing in communities heavily impacted by violence. Operating from a trauma-informed, client-centered lens, you will help participants navigate complex social and legal systems, mitigate risk factors, and access vital resources that foster long-term stability and personal growth.

This role is responsible forworking in the Career Services department which focuses on Community Workforce programs, CRED (Career Readiness, Employment, and Development), This Case Manager position will provide career pathways, training opportunities, job placement services, workforce supports, and economic mobility opportunities for Staten Island residents.

ABOUT YOU

You are dynamic, strategic, and mission-driven who will provide support for the broader Career Services team during outreach and intake. You will work with the agency's workforce development and career advancement portfolio.

SALARY

This is a full-time, in-person position, $55,000 Annually.
