Job summary

Amity Foundation in Vista, CA, is seeking an Employment Services Representative to assist unemployed participants with employment preparation, resume writing, interviewing skills, job search, and placement at the Vista Campus. This full-time, on-site role supports prison and re-entry programs and aims to help participants achieve sustainable work opportunities.

The position requires a degree in Social Sciences or related field (or high school diploma with relevant experience), CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

• Four (4) Degree in Social Sciences or related fields is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience as a job developer or similar position.
• Within six (6) weeks of hire, obtain First Aid and CPR certification and pass a physical examination and tuberculosis test from a health professional.
• Ability to cope with occasionally difficult or temperamental students and faculty.
• Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress related to the position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an updated roster of student placements.
• Collaborate with area employers to create job opportunities for participants.
• Notify prospective employers of Work Opportunity Tax Credit and other hiring incentives.
• Prepare monthly roster of employers willing to hire students and provide to CDCR on request.
• Mentor students on disclosing past convictions and parole status to employers.
• Provide counseling and employability services to students and assist in planning occupational goals.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or related fields
