Goodwill of the Heartland is seeking a Part-Time Career Services Advisor for the Cedar Rapids Center. The role requires an associate’s degree or two years of college, plus one year of related work experience. This position requires an associate’s degree or two years of study from a college/university, and one year of employment in a related field such as recruiting, supervisory, or training.Our Career Services Advisor works with community members who would like assistance with career planning and certification training. Advisors help community members in job search activities, building computer skills, and other skill development opportunities! This position provides skill assessments for each job seeker to assist them in locating resources and tools for their desired goals, as well as maintaining and using that knowledge. Career Services Advisors assist job seekers in securing employment in the community by aiding with basic job search activities, resume writing, skill workshops, interview skills, and other employment activities. An additional year of employment in a related field may be substituted.* Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance required* Successful completion of a motor vehicle, child/elder dependent abuse background check, and sex offender registry check required* Demonstrable literacy in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Teams/Zoom, and other computer skills requiredThe Career Services Advisor position has a starting wage of $18.82 per hour. The anticipated schedule will be Monday-Friday 10am - 3pm with some flexibility required. Must be 18 years of age or older.
