Indian River State College is seeking a student-focused and relationship-driven Career Services Advisor to support students and alumni as they explore career pathways, gain real-world experience, and prepare for professional success. This position plays a key role in guiding individuals through career planning, internship and experiential learning opportunities, job search strategies, resume and interview preparation, and career readiness development.
The ideal candidate is passionate about student success, enjoys building partnerships with employers and community organizations, and has experience developing career-related programs and resources. This role also coordinates the College's Career Ready Program, supports career events and networking opportunities, and helps connect students with meaningful internships and employment opportunities that enhance their academic and professional goals.

Under general direction, assists students in defining educational and career goals. Advises students on seeking and completing internship and experiential learning opportunities. Guides IRSC students and alumni through the career development cycle, which includes self-assessment, utilizing career assessments, conducting career readiness workshops and building networking skills. Provides resources for program of study research and transfer requirements for other institutions. Educates students about the interview process, including application procedures, resume and cover letter writing, portfolios development, and interview techniques. Meets with students to discuss jobs listings and offer advice on specific jobs of interest. Promotes student enrollment, retention and completion.
This position requires an ability to sit, stand for long periods, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
