Job summary

ServingSchools is seeking an instructor to guide students toward High School Diplomas and HSD/HSE in a regular classroom setting. You will collaborate with Academic Instructors to deliver direction and support for diverse learners, including those with disabilities.

Responsibilities include maintaining classroom discipline, utilizing curriculum resources, documenting progress, accommodations, and preparing weekly status reports to the academic manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; experience with special needs students.
• State teaching certification preferred; experience with disadvantaged youth is a plus.
• Excellent communication, oral and written, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a positive atmosphere to maximize student motivation.
• Maintains classroom discipline to ensure learning and rapport.
• Utilizes curriculum resources to support instruction.
• Provides adequate classroom support, including management and accommodations.
• Maintains student records for testing, progress, and disability accommodations.
• Assists students and staff with necessary forms for HSD/HSE education.
• Monitors attendance, progress, and performance; supports instructors as needed.
• Conducts accommodations reviews as required by policy.
• Performs remediation sessions for educational and personal development.
• Provides weekly status reports to the Academic Manager.
