CT State Community College system offers two-year liberal arts degree programs in an open enrollment environment and also offers a broad range of career, occupational and technical certificate programs in order to meet the varied learning needs of the populations served. These programs emphasize the linkage between academic studies and practical career application.
The Career Readiness Coordinator collaborates with the Director of Career Services in developing career-related job opportunities among area employers for the students of a Community College. The Coordinator also assists in development, administration and marketing of programs which integrate students' academic studies with practical work experience in their career fields. These programs may encompass such areas as cooperative education, career services, and special grant-funded programs.
Under the direction of theDirector of Cooperative Education or Career Services or other administrator, the Career Readiness Coordinator is accountable for promoting and obtaining the participation of employers in programs for placement of the College's students in career-related internships and jobs to provide students with experience and permanent employment through effective performance in these essential duties:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriately relevant field with two (2) or more years of experience applying those disciplines in a field related to career development, placement, education administration, or business; or a combination of education, training and experience that would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties
