AOE International in Carbondale, IL seeks an instructor to deliver the CEJA Core Competencies to a new cohort each month, totaling 100 hours of essential employability skills and 10 hours of career exploration with employers.

The role requires teaching OSHA 10‑Hour Construction, First Aid/CPR/AED, and digital skills in the computer lab, plus basic electrical concepts in the training lab; assess participants and coordinate with the case manager and pathway instructors.

Formación

• Three or more years of experience teaching or training adults in workforce readiness or related fields.
• Working knowledge of construction or clean energy workplaces and safety practices.
• Strong facilitation skills with learners facing barriers to employment.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and digital collaboration tools.
• Bachelor's degree in education, workforce development or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver the CEJA Core Competencies modules through hands-on, scenario-based activities.
• Teach OSHA 10-Hour Construction and First Aid/CPR/AED; complete required records.
• Teach digital skills in the computer lab and basic tool use and foundational electricity in the training lab.
• Assess participants during and after training; document attendance and results.
• Identify learners needing re-teaching and coordinate with the case manager.
• Host employer panels, site visits and mock interviews with business staff.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom building on participants' strengths.
