Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking Career Peers to provide student-to-student advising, workshops, and support during on-campus events at Metropolitan Campus. You will help fellow Tri-C students with career guidance, resume tips, and professional development while collaborating with staff and employers.

The role is a student employment position with hours based on department needs. Availability for day and evening shifts, and a commitment of two full semesters, is required.

Qualifications

  • Be a currently enrolled Tri-C student (international students are eligible)
  • Must be able to commit to at least two, full, consecutive semesters.
  • Must be able to work at least 15 hours per week
  • Must be in good academic standing with the college
  • Availability to participate in a 3+ hour training their first week of employment
  • Must not hold other on-campus employment
  • Must have both daytime and evening availability to assist with on-campus events assistants, student appointments, etc., and be available to assist with drop-ins.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 conversations available to fellow students during the day and evening hours
  • Assist staff and employers at career fairs and events
  • Help with set-up/tear-down and facilitation of tabling events
  • Facilitate workshops focused on various career education topics
  • Serve as a liaison to students at all Tri-C campuses
  • Support staff members on various projects and initiatives
  • Provide frontline support in reception areas within the office
  • Participate in office outreach activities
