Job summary

The Excel Center in Columbus, IN is seeking a College & Career Readiness Specialist to build relationships, develop programs, and guide students toward realistic postsecondary and career pathways. You will provide direct advising and manage cases as students near graduation, coordinating with colleges, employers, and certification providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, human relations, rehabilitation counseling, or related fields.
• Experience in secondary or higher education settings or career counseling/workforce development is preferred.
• Knowledge of financial aid processes, college admissions, scholarships, internships, and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with community partners, certification providers, and employers to support students.
• Implement programs exposing students to workplace and college experiences.
• Refer students to internal partners and track work-based learning and dual-credit opportunities.
• Facilitate career pathway and graduation planning to align with postsecondary goals.
• Collaborate with school leadership and instructors to drive graduation outcomes and enrollment.
• Support professional development and contribute to a high-performance learning environment.
