Job summary

The JCC of Staten Island is seeking a dedicated Outreach and Recruitment Specialist to support Career Connections training programs. You will engage with communities, recruit participants, and assist with onboarding to help individuals enter vocational training and secure sustainable employment.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, delivering soft skills workshops, coordinating information sessions, and tracking enrollment and outcomes while collaborating with case management staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social services or related field.
• At least three years of workforce development experience.
• Ability to work with diverse populations including immigrants and low-income groups.
• Proven ability to meet monthly targets.
• Experience teaching or facilitating groups to achieve outcomes.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete vocational assessments and present soft skills workshops.
• Assist intake to ensure appropriate program placement based on career goals.
• Outreach at community events and Information Sessions.
• Oversee Career Connections events registrations (Job Fairs, THRIVE Expo).
• Recruit and assess clients for vocational training programs.
• Achieve enrollment, placement, and retention targets quarterly.
• Provide coaching and direct support to adults with limited work history.
• Assist clients in developing social skills and work habits for long-term employment.
• Manage and track client stipend payments for training.
• Complete reporting and data entry by deadlines.
• Coordinate referrals to social services with staff.
