Job summary

The Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Career Development Specialist to guide program participants toward short- and long-term career goals. You will provide career coaching, connect clients to training, and help with job searches and retention.

This role focuses on helping participants access training, apply for scholarships, build resumes, and engage with WorkSource and local partners to expand pathways to sustainable employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–2 years of experience required.
• Experience in career coaching, employment services or workforce development.
• Experience with immigrants or internationally trained professionals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial intake to determine eligibility and create an Individual Employment Plan.
• Provide career coaching including basic skills development.
• Assist clients in training enrollment and scholarships.
• Coordinate with WorkSource and local colleges.
• Develop partnerships with employers and training providers.
• Maintain documentation and track outcomes.
• Refer participants to English assessment and pre-employment training.
• Promote program services at community events.
