Job summary

AMIkids is hiring a Career Navigator to guide participants through career exploration, resume writing, interview skills, and job search strategies. You will connect youth with training opportunities, mentorships, internships, and local employers to build an effective career path.

You will help develop individualized career plans, monitor progress, and prepare participants for employment. Strong communication, organizational skills, and a passion for youth development are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus two years' experience in career development.
• Four+ years in career development services; substitution allowed per policy.
• Knowledge of interviewing techniques and wage guidelines.
• Experience in non-profit or community organizations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and development to participants regarding career options and training.
• Offer a list of open employment opportunities and resources at least twice a month.
• Connect participants with mentorships, shadowing, and internships for real work exposure.
• Uphold AMIkids Way and Positive Youth Development in all interactions.
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment to foster learning and progress toward goals.
• Develop and maintain participant relationships to ensure engagement and progress.
• Assist with job fairs, resumes, and interview preparation; guide through applications.
• Create reports tracking participant progress and outcomes monthly.
