Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Commerce, Division of Workforce Solutions, is seeking an entry-level Career Employment Services Consultant I (S) in Charlotte. This full-time role provides information, guidance and assistance to customers seeking employment and to employers seeking workers through DWS programs and local Workforce Development boards.

You will deliver employment services, job training, and labor market information in a local career center setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in human resources, counseling, or related public contact work.
• Experience in job development, placement, and employment counseling preferred.
• Ability to interpret program guidelines and use computer systems for data management.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, guidance and assistance to customers seeking employment and employers seeking workers.
• Deliver employment services, job training, and labor market information.
• Conduct RESEA and collaborate in an Integrated Services Delivery environment to ensure effective service delivery.
• Enter information into databases, research job orders, and manage job listings by phone or in person.
• Cross-train in Career Center services and assist with job development, placement and referrals.
