Job summary

Goodwill of the Heartland is seeking a Full-Time Career Navigator at Cedar Rapids Center to coach and help participants achieve employment goals. The role includes case management, intakes, assessments, and guiding participants to training tools and skills to develop a career plan, plus access to job shadows and internships.

Starting wage is $20.26 per hour; schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with occasional flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, education, HR, or related field; six years of related experience can substitute.
• One year of employment in a related field; a relevant Master's degree may substitute for the year of experience.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and must pass motor vehicle record screening, dependent adult and child abuse & criminal background checks.

Responsibilities

Are you someone who enjoys coaching and helping others to meet their career goals? Do you want to work with a great team, supporting a great mission? If so, you might be a good fit for our Full-Time Career Navigator position at the Iowa City Center.

Career Navigators serve as program and case managers for program participants. They are assigned to a caseload and aid in completing intakes, assessments, and other required documentation. Career Navigators help program participants identify required training tools and skills to develop a comprehensive career plan, and from there, they will administer interest and skill-based assessments as needed. Career Navigators support and guide participants to achieve their goals and ultimately gain employment in their targeted career. Career Navigators provide access to job shadows, internships, and other employment services to help participants meet career goals.
