Job summary

MoDOT in the Canton Maintenance Facility is seeking an entry-level maintenance worker to perform routine duties maintaining the state's roadways and facilities under direct supervision.

This position is part of a CAREER-LADDER track with opportunities for advancement. It may include a temporary emergency pay adjustment of $3–$6 per hour during winter/emergency operations, and MoDOT offers a broad benefits package including pension, leave, and health insurance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET is required.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Passing the CDL written portion is required before hire; driving portion with tanker endorsement and EI/NI status within 60 days.
• Successful completion of a work simulation and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Maintain state highway systems, including pothole filling, flagging traffic, and placing traffic control devices.
• Maintain, clean, and repair state highway facilities and equipment.
• Operate vehicles to transport personnel and materials, snow plowing, and ice control.
• May repair bridge decks and clean bridge bents/caps at heights.
• May install signs and repair/sign posts as needed.
