Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support highway and facility maintenance in Kearney, MO. Responsibilities include patching potholes, traffic control setup, and equipment operation under supervision.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, with CDL exam requirements completed within 60 days of hire. Work involves outdoor conditions, physical stamina, and potential overtime/night shifts.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED/HiSET required.
Valid Driver's License required.
Passing grade on CDL written exam and successful completion of driving portion with tanker endorsement, Class B, interstate status within 60 days of hire.
Successful completion of a work simulation and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

Maintains state highway systems: filling joints and cracks, patching potholes, signaling traffic, setting up signs and traffic control devices, loading/unloading materials, mowing, and clearing debris.
Maintains, cleans, and repairs state highway facilities: signs, guardrails, curbs, gutters, buildings, equipment, and machinery.
Operates vehicles to transport employees/equipment, plow snow, spread ice control materials; mows right-of-way; operates auger, trencher, backhoe, forklift, and various trucks.
May repair bridge decks and drains; clean bridge bents/caps at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
May install large signs, inspect signs, pour concrete sign footings, weld/cut sign posts and maintain signage.
