Job summary

Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut is seeking an Employment Specialist in Hartford, CT. This full-time role helps program participants with disabilities obtain and maintain competitive employment, tailoring ISPs to individual goals.

You will coordinate intakes, prepare for interviews, arrange transportation, and ensure job site suitability. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Psychology, Education, or related field preferred but not required.
• Some experience in Human Services or a related field.
• Satisfactory driving record, valid license, and daily access to a vehicle for in-state driving.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Welcome new individuals to Community Employment Services and conduct intakes.
• Develop ISPs to establish employment goals and steps to achieve them.
• Implement ISPs, monitor progress, and report to the team or funding sources.
• Ensure that job sites meet participants' needs, abilities, and preferences.
• Prepare participants for interviews and accompany them if needed.
• Establish participants' schedules and ensure accurate site locations.
• Assist participants with job-seeking skills and interview techniques.
• Compile data for monthly billing packets.
• Participate in On-Call coverage in evenings and weekends on a rotating basis.
• Submit monthly job placement and retention reports.
• Provide transportation for participants to meetings when needed.
