Job summary

Mountain Gateway Community College (MGCC) seeks a Coordinator of Career Development Services to lead career services for students and alumni, build employer partnerships, and coordinate experiential learning in collaboration with Academic Affairs, Workforce Solutions, and partners.

The role focuses on providing career coaching, workshops, job-search support, credential attainment, and data-driven program evaluation to improve student outcomes and workforce readiness across MGCC locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and relevant experience.
• Solid knowledge of career development, workforce prep, and student development.
• Current Virginia Career Coach Certification or similar credential; or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of comprehensive career services for students and alumni.
• Develop relationships with regional employers for employment, internships, externships, and work-based learning.
• Coordinate experiential learning opportunities in collaboration with faculty and employers.
• Support workforce credential attainment and coordinate testing.
• Promote career services college-wide and engage alumni across MGCC locations.
• Manage resources, technology, and data collection to evaluate outcomes.
