Job summary

Oakton Community College is seeking a Career Development Coordinator to deliver career coaching, support student readiness, and build pathways to employment. You’ll connect students with internships, explore majors, and help design workforce development programs across Des Plaines, Skokie, and Evanston campuses.

The role involves workshop delivery, data collection, and collaboration with campus partners to expand employer partnerships and job opportunities for students.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication.
• Proficiency with career services platforms and CRM systems.
• Experience in career development or workforce initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and group career coaching to help with pathways and planning.
• Develop outreach strategies to engage students through coaching, visits, workshops, and campaigns.
• Assist with resume/cover letter, interview prep, and LinkedIn optimization for job readiness.
• Coordinate workshops and events in multiple modalities (in-person, virtual, hybrid).
• Collect and report data on engagement and outcomes for accreditation and institutional purposes.
• Cultivate employer and industry partnerships to expand opportunities for students.
• Collaborate with ACE-WD and other divisions to run job fairs and career programs.
