Job summary

Post University is seeking a Student Worker for the Career Development Center as an Office Assistant – Student Worker (Part-time). This in-person role at the Downtown Waterbury campus offers hands-on experience in career services, event planning, outreach, and administrative support.

The position is part-time (up to 20 hours/week) with weekday hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., starting in early September and potentially extending based on performance.

Qualifications

  • Must be a student at Post University.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using Canva and designing flyers/posters preferred.
  • Familiarity with Handshake is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with approving student accounts and provide general support in Handshake and the career services platform.
  • Develop and distribute promotional materials (flyers, posters) for events and resources.
  • Plan and execute career-related events, including workshops, fairs, and employer networking.
  • Conduct outreach to students and alumni to promote participation in the First Destination Survey.
  • Assist Employer Relations teams with programming, outreach, and administration.
  • Provide administrative support for daily Career Development Center operations.
  • Collaborate on special projects to improve career services for students.
  • Provide front-facing customer service by greeting visitors and guiding students.

Hours: 10 Hours
Duration: Beginning in early September, until the end of the term. Possibility to extend based on performance.
Pay Rate:$16.94 per hour

Position Overview

The Career Development Center is seeking a motivated and organized student worker to assist with various tasks and initiatives. This position provides hands‑on experience in career services, event planning, outreach, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with approving student accounts and providing general support in Handshake, Post University’s career services platform.
  • Develop and distribute promotional materials (flyers, posters) to raise awareness of career services events and resources.
  • Assist with planning and execution of career-related events, including workshops, career fairs, and employer networking events.
  • Conduct outreach to students and alumni to promote participation in the First Destination Survey.
  • Assist Employer Relations teams with programming, outreach, and administration.
  • Provide administrative support for daily operations of the Career Development Center.
  • Collaborate with the team on special projects and initiatives to improve career services for students.
  • Provide front-facing customer service by greeting visitors, assisting with requests, and helping students navigate Career Development Center resources.
  • Additional related responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Additional Information
  • Part‑time, temporary summer position (up to 20 hours per week) with possibility to extend to Fall and Spring term based on performance

  • Fully in‑person position.
  • This position is available for Post University Students only.
