  • Help participants identify educational, vocational, and certification opportunities that align with their goals.
  • Assess employment-related challenges and connect individuals to community resources and services as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to address personal and professional obstacles.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, participant records, and service documentation; ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Track engagement, outcomes, and progress toward goals; prepare reports as required.

Position Summary

As a Career Development Advisor, you will work directly with individuals seeking employment and career advancement opportunities. Through one-on-one coaching, ongoing support, and strategic planning, you will help participants identify strengths, overcome barriers, and take actionable steps toward achieving their professional goals.

Key Responsibilities
Participant Success Planning
  • Conduct participant intake, orientation, and eligibility assessments.
  • Develop individualized career action plans tailored to participant goals, experience, and interests.
  • Establish measurable milestones and regularly evaluate progress toward employment objectives.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, motivation, and accountability throughout the participant journey.
Career Coaching & Employment Readiness
  • Assist participants with career exploration and employment planning.
  • Provide guidance on resume development, interview preparation, and professional communication.
  • Support job search efforts, application strategies, and career decision-making.
  • Help participants identify educational, vocational, and certification opportunities that align with their goals.
Barrier Resolution & Resource Navigation
  • Assess employment-related challenges that may impact participant success.
  • Connect individuals to community resources and support services as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to help participants address personal and professional obstacles.
  • Empower participants to develop strategies that promote long-term career stability and self-sufficiency.
Case Management & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes, participant records, and service documentation.
  • Track participant engagement, outcomes, and progress toward established goals.
  • Ensure compliance with program requirements and reporting standards.
  • Prepare reports and updates as required by organizational guidelines.
Program Performance & Collaboration
  • Partner with workforce development, training, and employer engagement teams to support successful participant outcomes.
  • Monitor performance metrics related to enrollments, placements, retention, and goal achievement.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support organizational efforts to increase participant success and program effectiveness.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in workforce development, career services, social services, higher education, case management, counseling, or community-based programs.
  • Experience developing individualized service, employment, or career plans.
  • Knowledge of employment readiness, job search strategies, and workforce development practices.
  • Experience supporting individuals facing barriers to employment.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to motivate and coach individuals toward measurable goals and outcomes.
