Job summary

Eckerd Connects’ Pittsburgh Job Corps program seeks a Career Counselor to help students with personal, social development and career training. You will guide students in setting goals, connecting with community services, and preparing for work transitions.

Responsibilities include intake within 48 hours, monitoring attendance, addressing conduct, and coordinating with staff to support student success in education and training programs at Pittsburgh Job Corps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with at least 15 semester hours in social sciences or related area.
• One year of counseling experience or related field; Job Corps experience preferred.
• Valid state driver's license preferred; background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students in personal, social development, vocational and educational training.
• Assist students in continuing education or additional training; connect with community services.
• Help students set short and long-term goals and address career readiness challenges.
• Co-facilitate small group social skills sessions and employability skills.
• Conduct intake interviews within 48 hours of onboarding.
• Monitor attendance and address conduct issues per department protocols.
• On-duty counselor for weekends in rotational order.
