Job summary

Bond Health in the Bronx is seeking a Career Counselor to provide workforce development services and help program participants achieve employment, education, and meaningful activity goals. You will manage a caseload across multiple buildings, collaborate with case management and Business Services, and ensure participants meet their employment and educational objectives.

The role is full-time on a temp-to-perm basis, with a salary model including $26/hour temporarily and $53,000–$55,000 annually

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Knowledge and experience in workforce development and service delivery to low income individuals with significant barriers to employment required.
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with high levels of cooperation.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of about 100 participants across multiple buildings to access education, training, employment opportunities.
• Engage participants through all phases of enrollment and update service plans.
• Develop client engagement strategies and maintain biweekly outreach and progress notes.
• Complete employment and educational assessments and update plans biannually.
• Refer participants to job training programs and higher education opportunities as identified in plans.
• Assist participants in creating a job readiness portfolio and improving interviewing skills.
• Coordinate with Employment Specialists and respond to job leads in a timely manner.
• Help participants conduct independent job searches and refer to employers as needed.
• Provide job retention support for at least two years and offer placement referrals.
• Access community resources to support job search and retention efforts.
• Participate in case conferences and team meetings; maintain participant records in AWARDS.
• Provide reports on engagement, readiness, job search, education, training, and placement outcomes.
