Job summary

Oklahoma State Government’s 290 EMPLOYMENT SECURITY COMMISSION in Oklahoma City is seeking a Career Coordinator. The role focuses on career assessment, counseling, job placement, and unemployment services within normal business hours, with minimal travel.

The position requires managing client interactions with confidentiality, reporting requirements, and participation in team training. On-site work is essential; benefits are provided by the state.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in employment services, career or vocational guidance and counseling, personnel, recruitment, training, customer services or social services related work; or equivalent combination of education and experience (30 semester hours for 3 years).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks with good judgment and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage and promote career assessment and vocational counseling via interviews and evaluations to determine employment needs.
• Register customers for employment and unemployment services using EmployOklahoma.
• Assist with unemployment insurance processes and provide clear reports to management.
