Job summary

Iowa Workforce Development is seeking a Career Planner in Decorah, IA. The role is hybrid with options after six months; relocate to 312 Winnebago St., Decorah. You will coach job seekers, tailor resumes, and facilitate mock interviews while supporting employers and community partners.

Responsibilities include delivering workshops, documenting services, and guiding customers through IowaWORKS programs to secure employment. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in any field.
• Four years of full-time work experience in career services, teaching or training to improve skills, job coaching, providing human services to individuals in need, sales, customer service, call center operations, or HR-related services involving interviewing, reviewing applications or job placement.
• A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (see above), where thirty semester hours equals one year of experience.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes twelve months as a Workforce Associate.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, respectful customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ask customers questions to determine services needed and guide them accordingly.
• Collaborate with the American Job Center team to improve customer experience.
• Provide feedback and solutions to leadership; deliver first-day service to Veterans.
• Greet customers and maintain professional demeanor upon entry to the IowaWORKS Center.
