Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 12 months related work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with local communities and resources.
• 1–3 years of experience in workforce development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages a caseload of participants and provides work readiness counseling and mentoring.
• Assesses participant competencies, work history, education, skills, and identifies challenges.
• Conducts regular meetings with participants for job search, education, and retention.
• Creates individualized employment plans and monitors progress toward goals.
• Maintains information about area resources and employers.
• Tracks attendance and employment retention goals; ensures accountability.
• Notifies government agencies if a participant loses hours of employment.
• Maintains contact with participants to assess job advancement in various locations.
• Provides information on training and job opportunities for advancement.
• Supports participants toward self-sufficiency through ongoing case management.
