Orion Industries in Washington, DC is seeking an Employment Counselor to support people with developmental disabilities through coaching, case management, and community job development.

You will conduct vocational assessments, coordinate with families, funders, and staff, and build relationships with employers to create job opportunities. Candidates should have related education and experience; Spanish/ASL is a plus. Must pass background checks and pre-employment screenings.

Qualificações

• Level 1: Associate degree or HS diploma with 1 year experience with people with I/DD.
• Level 2/3: Bachelor's degree or employment services certification (CESP) or equivalent experience.
• Lead: Bachelor's degree in related field or 3+ years leadership in DDA community.

Responsabilidades

• Coaching and on-the-job training for employees and coworkers to ensure performance and adaptation.
• Support career growth through onsite visits, addressing personnel issues with solutions such as behavior supports and adaptive technology.
• Collaborate to create fading plans for coaching supports with employment or CI activities.
• Develop community job opportunities using best-practice job development strategies and business proposals.
• Market services to employers by generating leads and building relationships.
• Conduct vocational assessments and advocate for best practices with the DDA community.
• Develop annual service plan goals for clients on caseload with Employment Consultant Lead.
• Coordinate transportation solutions and supports with funders and families.
• Maintain daily case records and monitor outcomes and progress.
• Manage caseload and monthly service hours; maintain 80% of allocated hours billing.
• Ensure behavior plans follow positive behavioral supports and include functional assessments.
• Maintain positive stakeholder relationships and communicate issues to supervisors.
• Coordinate with family and staff to ensure seamless services.
• Coordinate and communicate with staff as needed for coverage.
