Job summary

Reporting to the Director of the Center for Career Development and Internships, the role provides coaching, resources, and guidance on assessments, resume development, job/internship searches, and career planning.

The position emphasizes collaboration with faculty, alumni, and employers, using Handshake and Big Interview to facilitate opportunities, and includes presenting workshops,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Business or related field.
• Two years of experience in student counseling or career services.
• Experience in public relations or communications.
• Training and certification in career assessments (MBTI, Strong).

Responsibilities

• Provide regular individual career coaching appointments and drop-ins.
• Evaluate student needs and offer resources, including resume help and interview prep.
• Guide research and development of individualized career plans.
• Utilize Handshake/Big Interview to support career development and track progress.
• Promote Winthrop’s Alumni Mentoring Program.
