Job summary

Jackson College seeks a Career Achievement and Work‑Based Learning Coordinator to provide day‑to‑day guidance for students, alumni, faculty, and employers within the Jets Career Achievement Center.

Reporting to the Director of Career and Professional Achievement, the role implements strategies, curriculum, and performance measures across career prep, the Career Essentials course, employer engagement, and work‑based learning programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in career development, education, business, human resources, counseling, workforce development, student affairs, organizational leadership, or a related field.
• At least two years of relevant professional experience in career services, workforce development, employer engagement, recruiting, human resources, student services, work‑based learning, apprenticeships, or a closely related area.
• Experience providing direct service, coaching, advising, instruction, or case coordination to students, job seekers, employees, apprentices, or other learners.
• Experience coordinating projects, events, employer relationships, placements, records, or programs that require consistent follow‑through and attention to detail.
• Experience using databases, learning‑management systems, career platforms, customer‑relationship systems, spreadsheets, or other technology to maintain records and report activity.
• Strong written, oral, interpersonal, presentation, customer‑service, organization, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internships, externships, co‑ops, job shadows, apprenticeships, service learning, project‑based experiences, student employment, and other approved forms of work‑based learning.
• Guide students through intake, readiness review, application, matching, onboarding, registration, and completion processes.
• Function as the primary operational contact for assigned work‑based‑learning employers and sites, maintain regular communication.
• Work with faculty to confirm placements align with program learning outcomes, student goals, and employer expectations.
• Prepare and maintain learning agreements, orientations, work plans, and evaluation documentation.
• Monitor student progress and address routine concerns; escalate issues to the Director as needed.
• Promote paid experiences where feasible and ensure compliance with policies and law.
• Identify participation barriers and coordinate practical solutions with students, employers, and partners.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day apprentice support, recruitment, intake, progress tracking, and completion documentation.
