Job summary

The University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) seeks a Coordinator for CAS Career Academies and Engineering Outreach to drive recruitment, outreach, and retention programs in collaboration with K-12 partners, community members, and alumni. This role supports CAS enrollment goals and UNK's engineering foundations initiatives.

Responsibilities include planning events, managing logistics for on- and off-campus activities, coordinating STEM outreach like Science Day, and serving as a primary contact

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Communication or CAS disciplines (including STEM fields)
• 2 years of experience in programs, events, or activities for youth or student populations.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to transport students in a university van
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard database or CRM tools

Responsibilities

• Coordinate CAS Career Academies by planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities, events, and communications.
• Develop and implement content and strategies to attract undergraduate students into the CAS academies, coordinating recruitment events and programming.
• Manage logistics for career exploration experiences on and off campus, including transportation and partner coordination; support STEM outreach such as Science Day.
• Occasionally lead or co-facilitate academy activities and accompany students on off-campus experiences.
• Maintain accurate records, track student participation, and prepare program reports.
• Support recruitment, retention, and advising efforts and collaborate with UNL engineering counterparts.
