Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking an Administrative Support on our patient care unit to coordinate non-clinical and ancillary services, ensuring efficient and high-quality operations on the assigned unit. This role supports environmental services, maintenance, central supplies, food/nutrition, and related unit functions.

Based in Houston, TX, the full-time day shift requires an Associate's degree and at least three years of administrative experience, with strong communication and organizational

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years experience in administrative functions
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Ability to communicate clearly with hospital staff
  • Strong organizational ability

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and maintains non-clinical and ancillary services on the assigned unit
  • Monitors inventory, usage patterns and par levels; requisitions supplies/equipment
  • Receives physicians and visitors and responds to needs; manages call light process
  • Ensures appropriate patient flow by admissions/transfers/discharges in the system
  • Schedules patient testing and delivers to lab; posts STAT results
  • Assists in meals, transport and indirect patient care tasks as needed
  • Maintains complete patient records; ensures correct routing of information
  • Identifies and resolves unit operational problems with manager support
  • Collects data on customer service, charges and supply utilization
