Job summary

JWCH Institute in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Care Team Specialist to support client engagement, safety, and well‑being in a 24/7 housing program. You will interact professionally with staff and clients, maintain a safe environment, and communicate safety concerns to supervisors.

The role requires crisis prevention, trauma‑informed care, and de‑escalation skills, with duties spanning front desk, rounds, and coordination with the care team.

Qualifications

• Minimum high School diploma or equivalency.
• Two years’ experience in a behavioral health or social services environment.
• Experience working with homeless persons or population.
• Strong ability to communicate with homeless individuals who are actively participating in substance abuse and other factors related to homelessness.
• Ability to handle confidential documents with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Establish a positive rapport with clients and express concern for their well‑being.
• Demonstrate understanding and practice harm reduction methods.
• Monitor the floors and front desk operations.
• Assist with client/patient safety and crisis situations as needed.
• Escort clients to appointments and assist with mobility when needed.
• Communicate safety concerns to supervision promptly.
