Program Description: ChiArts hosts an annual three-week summer camp designed for students in grades 6-8 to explore artistic disciplines such as Band, Creative Writing, Dance, Vocal Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts. The camp provides a joyful and nurturing environment led by artists from The Chicago High School for the Arts, offering pre-professional training in the arts from ChiArts faculty and alumni teaching artists.

Job Summary: The Care Room Attendant will assist with various tasks involving students and the facility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Tracking Care Room attendance and supervising students in the Care Room.
2. Recording reasons for students being sent to the Care Room.
3. Assisting school leadership with student movement, including bathroom breaks and parent/guardian handoff.
4. Responding to health emergencies by calling 911, notifying the principal, school nurse (if available), and parents/guardians.
5. Practicing aggressive hand hygiene.
6. Maintaining social distancing as feasible.
7. Wearing appropriate PPE as determined by OSHW (PPE will be supplied by CPS).

Qualifications:

• Availability to work the entire three-week camp from July 7th to 25th, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, including a training session in June.
• Experience working with children in camps, daycare, or school settings preferred.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems as they arise.
• Willingness to step into classrooms to assist with student health needs.
• Enthusiastic, energetic, with excellent communication skills.
• Organized, punctual, and dedicated to working with children.
• Committed to sharing and learning through the arts and supporting ChiArts' mission.
