Job summary

Compass Senior Living in Grants Pass, Oregon seeks a Care Partner to provide compassionate daily living support for residents in a rotating AM schedule (5:30am–2:00pm; 4 on/2 off). You will assist with bathing, dressing, mobility, health observation, and emotional support to enhance quality of life.

You will also help with meals, activities, and light housekeeping while communicating clearly with residents and teammates. Training and team mentorship are offered.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• Good verbal communication and the ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• Licensing documentation (if required by your state) and be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care: assist elders with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Observe, document, and report changes in health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• Offer emotional support, companionship, and engage in conversation.
• Assist with meals and feeding as needed.
• Support participation in social and recreational activities for well‑being.
• Communicate with elders, families, teammates, and guests.
• Maintain cleanliness with light housekeeping tasks.

What You’ll Do

As a Care Partner, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks. Here are some general expectations:

• You will provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility, possibly with walkers and wheelchairs.
• You will provide health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes in the elder’s health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• You will give emotional support: may support elders dealing with loneliness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. Engaging in conversation, active listening, and offering companionship is part of your role.
• You will assist with Meals: help elders with meals and possibly feed elders who require additional support.
• You will engage in social and recreational activities: supporting elders in life-enriching activities for their well-being.
• You will connect: Communicate with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
• You will keep things clean: may involve light housekeeping, such as tidying up and ensuring general cleanliness.
