Job summary

Desert Peaks - Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Care Partner to support residents with daily living activities, monitor health, provide companionship, assist with meals, and participate in social and recreational activities within our elder care community.

You will collaborate with the Wellness Team, communicate with residents and families, follow licensing requirements, and maintain cleanliness. Part-time schedule with benefits including vacation, 401(k) and training opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and work within a team.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers.
• Licensing documentation as required by state and ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to elders including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Monitor health, document changes, and report to Wellness Team.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Assist with meals and feeding as needed.
• Engage residents in life-enrichment activities.
• Communicate with elders, families, team members, and guests.
• Assist with light housekeeping to maintain cleanliness.

What You'll do

As a Care Partner, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks. Here are some general expectations:

• You will provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility, possibly with walkers and wheelchairs.
• You will provide health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes in the elder's health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• You will give emotional support: may support elders dealing with loneliness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. Engaging in conversation, active listening, and offering companionship is part of your role.
• You will assist with Meals: help elders with meals and possibly feed elders who require additional support.
• You will engage in social and recreational activities: supporting elders in life-enriching activities for their well-being.
• You will connect: Communicate with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
• You will keep things clean: may involve light housekeeping, such as tidying up and ensuring general cleanliness.

What You'll Bring

• You will bring good verbal communication and the ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• You will bring licensing documentation (if required by your state) and be able to pass a criminal background check.
