Job summary

Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers seeks a Coverage Care Coordinator to guide clients through healthcare enrollment, renewals and navigation across systems. You will manage applications, track statuses, and coordinate with care teams to prevent coverage gaps.

Ideal candidates have education or nursing/behavioral health background, strong documentation skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations while ensuring HIPAA compliance and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master’s degree in education, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice or similar field approved by ODMHSAS; orA current license as a registered nurse in Oklahoma with behavioral health experience; orA bachelor’s or master’s degree in any field with 6 months of behavioral health experience; or60 college credit hours in any field and 12 months of behavioral health experience; orA high school diploma or equivalent and a total of 36 months of direct, documented experience working with persons who live with mental illness and/or substance use issues.
• Current certification as a Behavioral Health Case Manager II as described in ODMHSAS Standards ad Criteria for Certified Behavioral Health Case Managers 450:50-3-1; andAn expectation of core competencies in relation to individuals and families, as well as individuals with co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care and collaborative care.

Responsibilities

• Meet with new clients to assess eligibility and assist with completing Healthcare applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all required documentation.
• Guide clients through the Healthcare enrollment process by explaining requirements, timelines, and necessary follow-up steps.
• Monitor and track submitted Healthcare applications, proactively following up with appropriate agencies to resolve issues and ensure timely processing.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding application status, additional documentation needs, and next steps.
• Manage and maintain accurate records of healthcare eligibility and expiration dates to prevent lapses in coverage.
• Notify clients of upcoming Healthcare renewals and assist with re-application or recertification processes as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to address barriers to coverage and support continuity of care.
• Ensure compliance with all Healthcare policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.
• Link and advocate for legal assistance as needed by working collaboratively with individuals, care team, and attorneys.
• Track and update legal assistance referrals, including final findings and actions.
