Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in administrative work in a health care setting.
• Experience with insurance, referrals, authorizations, and community contacts highly preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience providing strong customer service.
• Excellent communication skills written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Complete and process all authorizations and referrals ordered by providers and requested by patients for services inside and outside of MCHWC.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility.
• Maintain authorizations/referral information in patient chart via a tracking system.
• Maintain extensive resource directory for staff and patients.
• Understand managed care requirements for referrals.
• Provide superior customer service to patients and resolve problems.
• Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as directed.
