Job Details: Job Location: LSC - Columbia Office - Columbia, SC 29201, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $24.04 Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Second Shift
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with referrals and placement of youth into program services.
- Complete and maintain daily logs, progress notes, and other required documentation.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with DSS representatives and community partners.
- Attend staffing meetings and provide updates regarding youth progress and service needs.
- Assess youth needs and coordinate referrals for additional services and supports.
- Transport youth as needed to appointments, activities, and services.
- Advocate for youth and families during meetings and interactions with outside agencies.
- Maintain knowledge of DSS policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Apply behavior management techniques and intervention strategies to support positive outcomes.
- Collaborate with program staff, families, schools, and community partners.
- Complete assessments and assist with development of treatment recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field and two years of experience working with the population served; or Bachelor's degree in a non-related field and five years of experience working with the population served; or Master's degree in a human services-related field and one year of child welfare experience.
Experience
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families preferred.
- Knowledge of child welfare, foster care, behavioral health, or related services preferred.
- Experience collaborating with community agencies and service providers is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to complete assessments and maintain detailed documentation.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and child development principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.
- Knowledge of family systems, attachment theory, child development, and community resources preferred.
Working Conditions
- In-person work environment.
- Regular interaction with youth and families.
- Ability to travel locally as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and navigate stairs.
- Frequent computer use and documentation responsibilities.
