Qualifications

• Experience in an accounting or business office environment.
• 2+ years of budgeting, financial analysis, and financial accounting, or in a patient care business office.
• Knowledge of general ledger or financial software (e.g., Blackbaud Financial Edge).
• Strong analytical, data interpretation, and confidentiality skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to explain financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Process medical claims accurately and submit to insurance payers promptly.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on aging claims.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits before claims submission.
• Investigate and resolve claim denials and resubmit as needed.
• Review billing and coding for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain accurate health benefits and billing records in systems and databases.
• Follow HIPAA requirements and payer-specific guidelines.
• Prepare billing reports and performance metrics; collaborate with teams to resolve issues.
